Inauguration of National Recombinant Gene Bank in Iran

We kindly inform you that the National Recombinant Gene Bank (NRGB) of Iran has been inaugurated since spring 2008 in Iran. The services are available to the domestic and Local scientific media. Many Institutes, universities and scientific centers throughout the world have already organized such plasmid and host banks for domestic and local research purposes. These include: Weizmann Institute with a collection of 103 plasmids, EMBL and PSMZ centers in Germany, Plasmid Center in the University of Birmingham and Rosalind Franklin Laboratory in England and plasmid bank of BCCM collection of micro-organisms in Belgium to name a few . In addition to maintenance and collection of different  Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic hosts and vectors, NRGB has arranged for three platforms of consultation and vector design, DNA manufacturing and protein expression and purification which cover a broad range of services such as production of endotoxin free plasmids and client ordered specification as well as providing relevant workshops. Moreover, the management for collaboration based services provides access to a huge pool of genes and construct to domestic scientists for mutual activities.
